Dialogue: Engaging minds and hearts
Thank you for your courage to create this intergroup event. Dialogue is a tool that can help our communities move together, heal and strengthen. Through dialogue, we can use the differences that threaten to fragment us to instead weave adaptable, strong communities. In a society where divisive debate continues to grow separation, we are seeking to support mutual understanding and the capacity to relate to other perspectives.
Bring your group together to watch American Textures and to engage in open dialogue afterwards. If you are not yet experienced in facilitating a group discussion find someone in your community who can support you. You could co-host in the first dialogue and then facilitate other groups in the future.

Suggestions: Create a space in which individuals feel welcome to share not only thoughts but also feelings. Encourage people to let go of any pressure to create resolutions right away. For now, simply start by focusing on sharing openly and listening actively. (Remember: feeling fully listened to can be healing in itself and jumping to solutions can strongly undermine deep listening.)
