This Virtual Dialogue Package aims to support participants to respond to these difficult times by enhancing:
- Deep Connection: through a new methodology that’s built on the practices of empathetic listening, self-reflection, and authentic sharing to support participants’ social and emotional wellbeing
- Sense of Belonging: through a dialogue process and meta design that nurture intimate social circles and then scale those into a social web that supports a diverse and interconnected global online community
- Meaningful Integration: through social interactions that model, encourage, and inspire community participation to connect diverse ideas, spark civic imagination, and initiate purposeful action
Background
Entire systems are currently being forced to move online. The virtual space creates a duality. On one side, there is incredible potential for connecting individuals to each other across physical and emotional distance. However, to overcome the natural challenges of online interactions they require intentional, caring, and structured encounters to support meaningful connections and generative experiences.
To this end, Crossing Borders Education (CBE) has pioneered a new interactive, Virtual Fishbowl Dialogue methodology that models ways to foster personal connections that enhance participants’ resilience skills, practice dialogue across difference, and nurture civic imagination.
The slide deck below introduces the new methodology our new Transformative Learning Processes and Interactive Modules:
