The Multicultural Center and International Student Affairs Department (MCISA) at Webster University understand the pressing need to bring about change through dialogue around differences. Webster University understands that learning happens both inside and outside of the classroom. The University has worked with the Crossing Borders Education and the university’s Global Citizenship Program to embed tools that will engage students in conversation. The tools build on the work of the Association of American Colleges and Universities ( AAC&U) who have done a great deal of work related to diversity, equity, & inclusive excellence. The following table combines the skill areas outlined in AAC& U Intercultural Knowledge and Competence Value Rubric with embedded Resources from the Crossing Borders toolkits to allow for easy access for faculty and staff members who choose to use them in class or other settings.
